Key Responsibilities
- Operate a company vehicle safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and DHL safety standards.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Efficiently load, unload, and organize packages for optimal delivery and pickup routes.
- Accurately scan packages using handheld devices for tracking and delivery confirmation.
- Deliver and pick up shipments in a timely and professional manner, ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Interact courteously and professionally with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving minor issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups, and vehicle logs.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to security, cash handling, and hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with dispatchers and team members to ensure smooth operations and route adjustments as needed.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving or delivery experience.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 70 pounds regularly.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with package delivery services.
- Familiarity with the Charleston, WV metropolitan area and surrounding routes.
- Experience using handheld scanning devices and GPS navigation systems.
- A commercial driver's license (CDL) is a plus, though not required for all roles.
