We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled DevOps Engineer with a strong focus on automation to join our dynamic team in Tshikapa, Kasaï Province. As a DevOps Engineer – Automation, you will work closely with development, operations, and network teams to design, implement, and maintain automated solutions for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, continuous integration (CI), continuous delivery (CD), and system monitoring. Your expertise will directly contribute to optimizing our platform’s performance, reducing manual intervention, and accelerating our ability to deliver high-quality services to our customers across the DRC. Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate software builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Develop and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or Ansible for consistent and scalable infrastructure provisioning.
  • Automate monitoring and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve system issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement and manage containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) for application deployment and orchestration.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate automated testing and quality assurance into the CI/CD pipeline.
  • Manage and optimize cloud resources, ensuring cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency (even if local infrastructure is primary, cloud principles apply).
  • Administer and troubleshoot Linux-based servers and network services.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical systems and incident response.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies and tools to improve DevOps practices.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices for knowledge sharing and team efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Strong proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Go)
  • Extensive experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps)
  • Solid understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Proficiency in Linux system administration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack)
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
  • Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP)
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Relevant professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Kubernetes Administrator (CKA))
  • Experience in a telecommunications environment or large-scale distributed systems
  • Familiarity with database administration (SQL, NoSQL)
