Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Dentist to join our growing team at Cedarcrest Hospitals in Ketti, Abuja. As a Dentist at Cedarcrest, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive oral health services, ranging from routine check-ups and preventive care to complex restorative and cosmetic procedures. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive oral examinations, diagnose oral diseases, and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Execute a wide range of general dental procedures including fillings, extractions, root canal treatments, crowns, bridges, and dentures.
- Provide preventive dental care, including prophylaxis, fluoride applications, and dental sealants.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, dietary habits, and the importance of regular dental check-ups.
- Administer local anaesthesia and perform minor surgical procedures when necessary.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including medical history, treatment provided, and future recommendations.
- Collaborate effectively with dental assistants, hygienists, and other medical specialists to ensure integrated patient care.
- Adhere strictly to all infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in dental techniques and technology through continuous professional development.
- Manage patient queries and provide emergency dental services as required.
Required Skills
- Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid license to practice dentistry in Nigeria.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC clinical experience in general dentistry.
- Proven proficiency in performing a wide range of general dental procedures.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centred approach.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- High level of professionalism, ethics, and integrity.
- Proficiency in using dental software and digital imaging systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in a relevant professional dental association (e.g., Nigerian Dental Association).
- Postgraduate training or specialization in a dental field (e.g., Orthodontics, Periodontics, Endodontics).
- Experience with advanced dental technologies such as CAD/CAM systems or laser dentistry.
- Proficiency in a local Nigerian language in addition to English.
