Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to the HR team, including scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and maintaining organized HR files.
- Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all paperwork is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Act as a primary point of contact for employee HR inquiries, providing information and directing complex issues to appropriate HR specialists.
- Maintain employee records in HRIS (Human Resources Information System), ensuring data accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Support benefits administration by assisting employees with enrollment questions and coordinating with benefits providers.
- Coordinate and track employee training programs, workshops, and development initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of HR communications, memos, and presentations.
- Support HR projects and initiatives as assigned, contributing to continuous improvement in HR processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an HR Coordinator or in a similar administrative HR role.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Fundamental understanding of HR best practices and employment laws.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience with HRIS software (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors).
- Knowledge of federal and Alaska state employment regulations.
