Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize and uphold the highest safety standards for all passengers and crew members, including performing thorough pre-flight safety checks and ensuring cabin security.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to passenger needs with professionalism, empathy, and efficiency, enhancing their overall travel experience.
  • Execute all safety procedures and emergency responses effectively, including evacuation procedures, administering first aid, and managing disruptive situations calmly and decisively.
  • Conduct in-flight service, including meal and beverage service, and promote onboard products, ensuring a pleasant and comfortable travel environment.
  • Maintain cabin cleanliness and order throughout the flight, adhering to Delta’s high standards of presentation and hygiene.
  • Assist passengers with boarding, deplaning, stowing luggage, and addressing special requests, including those from passengers with disabilities, unaccompanied minors, or special needs.
  • Act as a liaison between the flight deck and passengers, communicating important information clearly and calmly during all phases of flight.
  • Complete all required paperwork and reports accurately and in a timely manner, including incident reports and cabin logs.
  • Work effectively as part of a diverse cabin crew team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and supportive work environment.
  • Adhere to all FAA regulations, company policies, and security procedures to ensure a compliant and safe operation.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year of continuous customer service experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., retail, hospitality, healthcare).
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to remain calm, resourceful, and effective under pressure, demonstrating composure in challenging situations.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing passenger needs.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of application.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shifts, with a readiness to be on call.
  • Must possess a valid U.S. passport and the legal right to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Physical ability to push/pull beverage carts weighing up to 250 lbs, lift luggage up to 50 lbs, and stand for extended periods, as well as reach overhead and operate cabin equipment.
  • Successful completion of a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and FAA-required training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or some college coursework completed.
  • Proficiency in a second language (especially Spanish, French, Japanese, German, or other languages relevant to Delta's global network).
  • Prior experience in hospitality, aviation, emergency services, or a similar service-oriented role.
  • Knowledge of first aid or CPR certification.
  • Previous experience living or working in a diverse, remote, or challenging environment.
