Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test hardware components and systems for Dell products, including servers, workstations, and client devices.
  • Perform circuit design, schematic capture, and guide PCB layout to optimize performance and manufacturability.
  • Conduct thorough hardware validation, debugging, and root cause analysis of issues identified during testing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (firmware, software, mechanical, thermal, manufacturing) to ensure seamless product integration and successful launch.
  • Evaluate and select new components and technologies to improve product performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans for hardware verification and qualification.
  • Document design specifications, test procedures, and engineering changes accurately.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and competitive landscape to inform future product development.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing and field service teams.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware design and development.
  • Proficiency in circuit design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Eagle).
  • Strong understanding of digital and analog circuit design principles.
  • Experience with signal integrity, power integrity, and EMI/EMC best practices.
  • Demonstrated experience in hardware debugging and root cause analysis using lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers).
  • Familiarity with various communication protocols (e.g., PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience with server or client platform architecture.
  • Knowledge of industry standards like JEDEC, PCI-SIG, USB-IF.
