Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently sort and scan incoming and outgoing parcels according to destination and service type.
- Load and unload packages from trucks, conveyor belts, and other transport vehicles.
- Handle packages with care to prevent damage, adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Ensure accurate weighing and measurement of parcels when required.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the sorting area and loading docks.
- Operate various material handling equipment safely and effectively (training provided).
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.
- Adhere strictly to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Assist with inventory counts and quality control checks as needed.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues regarding package status and potential delays.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) repeatedly throughout a shift.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in sorting and scanning.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Basic communication skills to interact with team members.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physical labour role.
- Familiarity with scanning technology and basic computer usage.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record (beneficial for future growth opportunities).
