Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently load, unload, and deliver a wide array of parcels to residential and commercial customers on assigned daily routes.
  • Operate company vehicles in a professional and safe manner, consistently adhering to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety protocols.
  • Strategically plan and optimize delivery routes to ensure maximum efficiency, timely performance, and customer satisfaction.
  • Accurately utilize handheld scanning devices and mobile applications to meticulously record all pick-ups, deliveries, and relevant shipment information.
  • Provide exceptional, friendly, and professional customer service, addressing inquiries, resolving minor issues, and representing Purolator positively.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained delivery vehicle at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and procedures, including proper lifting techniques, vehicle pre-trip inspections, and secure parcel handling.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork, manifests, and documentation accurately and submit them on time.
  • Collaborate effectively and communicate proactively with team members, dispatch, and supervisors to ensure seamless and efficient operations.
  • Handle cash or process electronic payments for COD (Cash on Delivery) shipments when required, ensuring accuracy and accountability.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 5 Manitoba Driver's License with a clean driving abstract (less than 3 demerit points).
  • Demonstrated ability to safely and confidently operate a commercial delivery vehicle.
  • Physical capability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs repeatedly throughout an entire shift.
  • Strong organizational skills, exceptional attention to detail, and efficient time management abilities.
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient geographical knowledge of Winnipeg, particularly the Transcona area, is an asset.
  • Basic proficiency with mobile devices and applications for scanning and navigation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (1+ years) in a delivery, courier, transportation, or similar logistics role.
  • Prior experience using handheld scanning devices and GPS navigation systems for route optimization.
  • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Demonstrated customer service experience in a direct client-facing role.
