Purolator is actively seeking a dedicated and energetic Delivery Parcel Runner to join our vibrant team in Thunder Bay, Ontario. This full-time position is an incredible opportunity to play a vital role in connecting our community, ensuring that critical packages and documents reach their recipients efficiently and reliably. As a Delivery Parcel Runner, you will be the face of Purolator, responsible for the safe and punctual pickup and delivery of parcels within Thunder Bay and surrounding areas. This role requires not only excellent driving skills but also a customer-centric approach, physical stamina, and strong organizational abilities. You’ll navigate city streets, interact with a diverse range of clients, and manage your daily route to meet our stringent service standards. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to pick up and deliver parcels to residential and commercial customers within Thunder Bay and specified routes.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the delivery vehicle and equipment, ensuring all safety standards are met.
- Handle packages with care, ensuring they are loaded, unloaded, and delivered without damage.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and pickups, including obtaining recipient signatures and processing electronic manifests.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving delivery issues professionally and promptly.
- Manage time and routes effectively to meet strict delivery schedules and targets.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Communicate regularly with dispatch and supervisors regarding route progress and any potential challenges.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Valid Ontario Class G Driver's License with a clean driving abstract.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) repeatedly throughout the day.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using GPS devices and routing software.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery, courier, or transportation role.
- Familiarity with Thunder Bay and surrounding area road networks.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices and electronic proof of delivery systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changing circumstances.
