Key Responsibilities
- Operate a UPS package delivery vehicle safely and efficiently.
- Deliver and pick up packages within scheduled timeframes, ensuring accuracy and proper handling.
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records, including electronic scanning and documentation.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, addressing inquiries and resolving delivery issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies and procedures.
- Lift, lower, and carry packages that may weigh up to 70 pounds and assist with packages weighing up to 150 pounds.
- Organize packages in the vehicle for efficient delivery routes.
- Manage time effectively to complete routes within specified daily schedules.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license (Class C or higher, as required by state law).
- Clean driving record for the past 12 months, with no accidents or moving violations.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull packages up to 70 lbs independently, and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong time management and organizational abilities.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous delivery or professional driving experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Familiarity with the Dallas, Texas metropolitan area.
- Experience with handheld scanning devices or delivery technology.
