Key Responsibilities
- Accept and manage delivery requests efficiently through the DoorDash mobile application.
- Pick up orders from restaurants, grocery stores, and other merchants in a timely and professional manner.
- Verify the accuracy and quality of orders before departure to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Safely and efficiently transport items to customer locations using your own reliable vehicle.
- Interact professionally and courteously with merchants and customers, representing the DoorDash brand positively.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and safety regulations while driving.
- Maintain a clean and presentable vehicle suitable for food and goods delivery.
- Communicate proactively with customers and DoorDash support regarding delivery status or any unexpected issues.
- Handle all items with care to prevent damage during transit.
Required Skills
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Access to a reliable vehicle and valid auto insurance.
- Proficiency with a smartphone (iOS or Android) to effectively use the DoorDash Dasher app.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills to handle multiple deliveries.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities for positive interactions.
- Customer-centric attitude with a commitment to friendly and efficient service.
- Ability to lift and carry delivery bags (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
- Must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in delivery services, rideshare, or other gig economy roles.
- Familiarity with the local Virginia service areas (e.g., Richmond, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Alexandria, etc.).
- High school diploma or equivalent.
