Allegro, Poland’s leading e-commerce platform, is seeking a talented Data Scientist to join our fully remote team. In this role, you will be instrumental in driving data-driven decisions across various facets of our business, from optimizing user experience and improving search algorithms to enhancing logistics and personalizing recommendations. You will work with vast datasets, apply advanced statistical methods, machine learning techniques, and predictive modeling to solve challenging problems that directly impact millions of users and thousands of merchants. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, validate, and deploy advanced analytical models and machine learning algorithms to solve complex business problems.
- Perform extensive data analysis, identify trends, and derive actionable insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and business stakeholders to define problems, formulate hypotheses, and design data-driven solutions.
- Design and execute A/B tests and other experimental designs to measure the impact of new features and initiatives.
- Build and maintain robust data pipelines and ensure data quality and integrity.
- Communicate complex analytical findings and recommendations clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and statistical modeling.
- Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the growth of our data science community.
- Identify new opportunities for leveraging data to improve Allegro's platform and services.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist with a strong portfolio of projects.
- Expert proficiency in Python (e.g., Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn) or R for data analysis and modeling.
- Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning algorithms, and experimental design.
- Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop, Flink).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex issues.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to diverse audiences.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics).
- Experience in the e-commerce industry.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., GCP, AWS, Azure) and associated data services.
- Experience with MLOps practices and deploying models into production.
- Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Experience with deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
