Job Description
Fidelity Bank Plc is seeking a meticulous and dedicated Data Entry Officer to join our dynamic team in Karimo, Abuja. This pivotal role involves the accurate and efficient input, verification, and maintenance of crucial data across various digital platforms and clerical records. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately inputting a high volume of data from various sources (e.g., paper documents, digital files, customer forms) into the bank’s databases and systems.
- Verifying data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency, identifying and correcting discrepancies as needed.
- Maintaining and updating existing database records, ensuring all information is current and correctly categorized.
- Preparing, compiling, and sorting documents for data entry, ensuring proper filing and retrieval systems are maintained.
- Generating reports and summaries from inputted data as required by management or other departments.
- Ensuring the confidentiality and security of all sensitive information handled, adhering strictly to data protection regulations.
- Adhering strictly to data entry policies, procedures, and bank regulations, including anti-money laundering (AML) guidelines.
- Assisting with administrative tasks and clerical support as needed, including scanning, photocopying, and organizing physical and digital files.
- Collaborating with team members and other departments to achieve departmental goals and improve data management processes.
- Troubleshooting basic data entry issues and escalating complex problems to appropriate personnel or IT support.
- Participating in continuous training and development programs to stay updated with best practices and technological advancements in data management.
Required Skills
- Exceptional typing speed and accuracy (minimum 40 WPM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify errors quickly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion and integrity.
- Basic understanding of data management principles and database concepts.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective team collaboration.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- An OND or HND in Business Administration, Computer Science, Library Science, or a related field.
- Previous experience (1+ year) in a data entry or administrative role within a financial institution or a high-volume data processing environment.
- Familiarity with banking software, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles or financial operations.
- Ability to adapt to new technologies and software quickly and efficiently.
- Certifications in data entry or office administration.
