Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and dedicated Data Entry Clerk to join our dynamic team in Rumuola, Port Harcourt. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity and accuracy of our vast information systems, playing a direct part in our operational efficiency and customer service excellence. The successful candidate will be responsible for inputting a high volume of data from various sources into our computer systems, ensuring that all information is accurate, up-to-date, and readily accessible. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a steadfast commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive customer and organizational data. You will be expected to regularly verify data accuracy, identify and correct discrepancies, and prepare comprehensive reports as needed, thereby contributing directly to smooth business operations across various departments. This role is fundamental to our daily operations, impacting everything from efficient customer record management to precise financial reporting and strategic decision-making. Your ability to work efficiently, accurately, and with a high degree of responsibility will directly support various departments, ensuring that key decisions are made based on reliable and validated information. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input a high volume of data from various source documents into computer systems and databases.
- Verify data by comparing it to source documents, correcting errors, and re-entering data where necessary.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and ensure data security.
- Organize and file documents after data entry to ensure easy retrieval.
- Perform regular backups of data to prevent data loss.
- Prepare and compile data for reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Communicate with other departments to resolve data discrepancies and obtain further information.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding data management.
- Assist with other administrative tasks as needed.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Data Entry Clerk or similar administrative role.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy (minimum 45 WPM).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Basic understanding of data privacy regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- OND/HND/B.Sc in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
