Our Data Engineers are responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the robust data pipelines and infrastructure that power our analytics, machine learning initiatives, and product features. As an Entry-Level Data Engineer, you will play a supporting role in these efforts, learning best practices in data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and big data technologies. You’ll work with diverse datasets, contributing to projects that provide actionable insights and drive business growth.

You’ll be mentored by senior engineers, receiving guidance as you develop your technical skills and understanding of our complex data ecosystem. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines using various data processing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with senior Data Engineers to understand data requirements and implement robust ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Help monitor and troubleshoot data pipelines, ensuring data quality, reliability, and performance.
  • Contribute to the documentation of data architecture, data models, and data flow processes.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of our data engineering practices.
  • Learn and apply best practices for data warehousing, data lakes, and cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
  • Engage with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to understand their data needs and provide support.
  • Support data governance initiatives by ensuring data integrity and adherence to compliance standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Foundational understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
  • Basic understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software development principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Eagerness to learn new technologies and concepts quickly.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their data services.
  • Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop) through academic projects or personal exploration.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Exposure to version control systems like Git.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automation.
