Job Description
We are actively seeking a highly skilled, motivated, and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Lagos for immediate hiring. Key Responsibilities
- Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components, systems, and equipment for manufacturing and industrial processes.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical machinery and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and perform preventative maintenance to ensure operational efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.
- Diagnose mechanical issues, troubleshoot failures, and implement corrective actions efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and schedules.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
- Ensure all mechanical operations adhere to safety standards, quality regulations, and environmental policies.
- Manage spare parts inventory and procurement processes for mechanical components.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer in an industrial setting.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and material science.
- Experience with industrial machinery, heavy equipment, and power transmission systems.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., COREN registration or equivalent).
- Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience in a large-scale manufacturing or industrial environment, particularly in cement, sugar, or food processing.
- Project management experience.
