Job Description

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and precise quality control tests on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished cement products, strictly adhering to established specifications and standard operating procedures.
- Operate, maintain, and calibrate various laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring their optimal functionality and accuracy for reliable test results.
- Record, meticulously analyze, and skillfully interpret complex test data, promptly identifying any deviations from defined quality specifications and communicating findings efficiently.
- Proactively implement and rigorously enforce quality assurance protocols and comprehensive procedures across the entire cement production cycle.
- Foster strong collaboration with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to effectively address quality concerns and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare comprehensive and detailed quality reports, documentation, and certifications for internal review, external audits, and strict regulatory compliance.
- Actively participate in conducting root cause analysis for identified quality deviations, contributing to the development and implementation of effective preventive measures.
- Monitor and ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards within the laboratory and across plant operations.
- Continuously stay updated on industry best practices, emerging testing methodologies, and pertinent quality control regulations to ensure compliance and innovation.
- Provide guidance and assist in the training of new team members on quality control procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable knowledge of quality control principles and analytical testing methodologies in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various laboratory equipment for material testing (e.g., Blaine fineness apparatus, compressive strength machine, chemical analyzers).
- Exceptional data analysis, interpretation, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to identify, diagnose, and resolve quality-related issues effectively and efficiently.
- Meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy in all tasks and record-keeping.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for data management and reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting, documentation, and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as an integral part of a diverse team in a demanding, fast-paced production environment.
- Solid understanding of relevant safety standards, quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), and environmental regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science, or a closely related technical discipline.
- Professional certifications in Quality Control or Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Inspector/Technician).
- Previous practical experience and familiarity with cement manufacturing processes, specific quality parameters, and industry-specific testing.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or similar data management and tracking software.
- A proven track record of contributing positively to process improvement initiatives and cost reduction efforts.
