As a Maintenance Technician with Dangote Cement, you will play a pivotal role in the continuous operation of our world-class cement production facilities. Your expertise will be crucial in diagnosing complex issues, performing timely repairs, and implementing improvements to our machinery and systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on plant machinery and equipment, including conveyors, crushers, kilns, mills, and packaging machines.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Execute corrective maintenance and emergency repairs promptly to minimize production downtime.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics for troubleshooting and repair.
- Conduct predictive maintenance activities, including vibration analysis and thermography, to identify potential failures.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and equipment performance.
- Collaborate with production teams and other departments to ensure seamless operations and continuous improvement.
- Participate in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required.
- Train and mentor junior technicians when applicable.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician in a heavy industrial setting (cement, mining, steel, oil & gas).
- Strong mechanical aptitude with expertise in hydraulics, pneumatics, and rotating machinery.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, motor control, and industrial wiring.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs.
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong commitment to safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently.
- Good communication skills (written and verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Professional certification in maintenance or a related technical field.
- Experience with PLC programming and automation systems.
- Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (e.g., vibration analysis, thermography).
- Prior experience in a cement manufacturing plant.
