Hôtel Kwilu is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Dance Instructor to lead our new studio training program in Bandundu. This full-time, on-site role offers a unique opportunity to shape our recreational offerings, working with individuals and groups of various ages and skill levels. As our Dance Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging dance classes across multiple styles, fostering a positive and encouraging learning environment. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive dance curricula for various age groups and skill levels (beginners to intermediate).
- Teach a range of dance styles including, but not limited to, traditional Congolese dances, contemporary, hip-hop, salsa, and fitness-based dance.
- Create engaging lesson plans and choreographies that are suitable for participants' abilities and interests.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to students to aid in their progress and technique development.
- Ensure the safety of all participants during classes, adhering to proper warm-up and cool-down routines.
- Maintain a positive, inclusive, and motivating studio environment.
- Organize and prepare for student performances or showcases as opportunities arise.
- Manage studio equipment and ensure cleanliness and organization of the dance space.
- Collaborate with the Hôtel Kwilu team to promote dance programs and recruit participants.
- Stay updated on current dance trends and teaching methodologies.
- Attend team meetings and contribute to the overall recreational program development.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and customer service within the hotel environment.
Required Skills
- Demonstrable expertise in multiple dance styles, with a strong emphasis on technique and performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially with diverse age groups.
- Proven ability to teach and motivate students effectively.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Creativity in choreography and lesson planning.
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities.
- Basic first aid knowledge (or willingness to obtain).
- Proficiency in French and/or Lingala is highly desirable.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized dance institution or equivalent professional training.
- Experience in organizing or participating in dance performances or competitions.
- A portfolio or video reel showcasing dance skills and/or teaching style.
- Previous experience working in a hotel or community center setting.
- Fluency in additional local languages.
