Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications on aircraft systems and components in accordance with approved maintenance manuals and regulatory guidelines.
- Conduct thorough troubleshooting of aircraft systems, including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, to diagnose and rectify faults efficiently.
- Execute engine removals, installations, and maintenance procedures, ensuring all tasks adhere to manufacturer specifications and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records, ensuring compliance with Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) regulations and company standards.
- Utilize specialized tools and equipment safely and effectively, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Collaborate with other maintenance personnel, flight crew, and operations teams to ensure timely aircraft turnaround and minimal disruptions.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and regulations, fostering a culture of safety within the maintenance hangar.
- Participate in ongoing training and development programs to stay updated with the latest aviation technologies and maintenance practices.
- Perform pre-flight, through-flight, and post-flight checks and inspections as required.
- Assist in the management and inventory of spare parts and tools.
Required Skills
- Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineer's License (AMEL) with relevant ratings (e.g., Airframe and Powerplant – A&P)
- Minimum of 3 years of verifiable experience in aircraft maintenance, preferably on commercial aircraft.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations (NCARs) and other relevant aviation safety standards.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex aircraft systems and interpreting technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of integrity and commitment to safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Type rating on specific aircraft types operated by Dana Air (e.g., Boeing 737, McDonnell Douglas MD-80 series).
- Experience working in an airline environment with a focus on line maintenance.
- Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Additional certifications in specialized aviation maintenance areas.
