Jireh ICT Solutions is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Cyber Café Attendant to join our vibrant team at our Marian, Calabar location. This pivotal role involves being the first point of contact for our valued customers, ensuring they have a seamless and positive experience whether they are accessing high-speed internet, printing essential documents, scanning important files, or requiring general computer assistance and guidance.
As a Cyber Café Attendant, you will be instrumental in the day-to-day operations of our bustling cyber café. Your primary responsibilities will include maintaining the optimal functionality of our computer systems, printers, scanners, and other peripherals. Your duties will extend beyond basic supervision to active problem-solving, patiently guiding users through various applications, assisting with email setup, and ensuring a secure, clean, and friendly environment for all patrons. You will also play a crucial role in managing transactions, accurately handling cash and electronic payments for services rendered, and maintaining meticulous records. Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet customers, ascertain their needs, and provide professional, friendly assistance with all cyber café services.
- Assist users with internet access, email setup, document creation, data saving, and navigating various software applications.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot printing, scanning, and photocopying equipment, ensuring high-quality output and resolving minor technical glitches.
- Manage the billing system for computer usage, printing, scanning, and other services, accurately handling cash and electronic payments.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and tidiness of the cyber café, including all workstations, printers, and common areas.
- Monitor computer systems for proper functionality, perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting, and escalate complex issues to IT support.
- Ensure strict compliance with all company policies and procedures, including internet usage guidelines, security protocols, and copyright regulations.
- Replenish printing supplies (paper, toner cartridges) and maintain accurate inventory records to prevent stock-outs.
- Provide basic technical support and patient guidance to customers experiencing minor software or hardware difficulties.
- Educate customers on available services, pricing, and promote additional offerings provided by Jireh ICT Solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of daily transactions, service logs, and customer feedback for reporting purposes.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic desktop publishing applications.
- Strong understanding of internet browsing, email management, and cloud storage solutions.
- Demonstrable experience operating and troubleshooting various office equipment, including printers, scanners, and photocopiers.
- Exceptional customer service orientation and superior interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Solid basic computer hardware and software troubleshooting abilities to resolve common user issues.
- Proven ability to handle cash transactions accurately, manage point-of-sale systems, and maintain meticulous financial records.
- Fluency in English (verbal and written) with excellent articulation.
Preferred Qualifications
- An OND/HND/B.Sc. in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Previous experience of at least one year working in a cyber café, retail technology environment, or a demanding customer service role.
- Familiarity with various operating systems (Windows OS is essential; basic Linux knowledge is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of local internet service providers, network connectivity, and common internet issues in Calabar.
