Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company vehicle to deliver and pick up parcels and documents within the assigned Toronto route.
- Ensure timely delivery schedules are met, providing exceptional customer service during interactions.
- Load and unload vehicles, ensuring proper handling and security of all shipments.
- Verify and maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections, including proof of delivery.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle, reporting any maintenance issues promptly.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Utilize handheld scanning devices and other technology for tracking shipments and managing routes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and team members regarding route status and any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized company vehicle.
Required Skills
- Valid G Driver's License (or equivalent) with a clean driving abstract
- Minimum of 1 year of professional driving experience (e.g., courier, delivery, commercial driving)
- Strong customer service and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 70 lbs (32 kg) repeatedly throughout the day
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Familiarity with the Greater Toronto Area road network
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a courier or logistics role
- Experience using handheld scanning devices and delivery software
- High school diploma or equivalent
