Key Responsibilities
- Operate your own reliable vehicle (typically a cargo van, sprinter van, or box truck) for daily package pick-up and delivery services within designated routes.
- Efficiently sort, load, and unload packages, ensuring proper handling and security.
- Utilize a handheld scanning device to accurately record package information, delivery status, and any exceptions.
- Ensure timely delivery of packages to residential and commercial customers, adhering to specified delivery windows.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing inquiries, and resolving delivery issues professionally.
- Maintain a clean driving record and adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring your vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Manage fuel efficiency, vehicle maintenance, and other operational costs associated with running your independent delivery service.
- Process cash-on-delivery (COD) payments and obtain necessary signatures for package deliveries.
Required Skills
- Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Reliable and roadworthy cargo van, sprinter van, or box truck (minimum 100 sq ft cargo space) suitable for package delivery.
- Proof of vehicle insurance with appropriate commercial coverage.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs unassisted and up to 150 lbs with assistance.
- Comfortable working independently in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of smartphone and scanning device operation.

- Previous experience as a delivery driver or independent contractor.
- Familiarity with the Seattle, Washington geographical area and surrounding routes.
