Key Responsibilities

  • Greet members enthusiastically and provide prompt, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Assist members with product selection, locate merchandise, and answer product-related questions accurately.
  • Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately using POS systems, including cash, credit, and debit card payments.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor, including merchandising products and setting up displays.
  • Handle member inquiries and resolve issues professionally and courteously, escalating complex problems to management when necessary.
  • Actively promote Costco membership benefits and services to existing and potential members.
  • Perform general stock duties, including receiving, rotating, and stocking merchandise.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security guidelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve daily operational goals and ensure a positive shopping environment.
  • Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate stock records as required.

Required Skills

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented retail environment.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and counting change.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, push, and pull merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs regularly, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a retail, customer service, or sales role.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems.
  • Knowledge of various merchandise categories sold at Costco.
