Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods in accordance with established recipes and standards.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory, ordering, and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Ensure the quality of food and presentation meets the hotel's high standards.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety and sanitation regulations (HACCP, provincial health codes).
  • Assist in planning menus, determining food portions, and estimating food requirements and costs.
  • Train and supervise kitchen helpers and other junior staff.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth service during peak hours.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 1-2 years of professional cooking experience in a reputable establishment.
  • Proven ability to prepare a wide variety of cuisines and dishes.
  • Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
