Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials (e.g., lumber, steel, concrete, tools) to and from work areas.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, digging trenches, erecting temporary structures, and performing general groundwork.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, masons, electricians, plumbers) with various tasks as directed.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently, including drills, shovels, wheelbarrows, and compactors.
- Perform concrete mixing, pouring, and finishing tasks, including operating concrete mixers.
- Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary shelters, and safety barricades as per site requirements and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including waste removal and proper tool storage.
- Follow all company and regulatory health and safety procedures and guidelines diligently.
- Carry out other general labour duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.
Required Skills
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour for extended periods.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
- Basic knowledge and practical experience with common construction tools and equipment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety protocols.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 1 year) working on a construction site.
- Certification in basic first aid or occupational safety.
