Job Description
We are actively seeking dedicated and hardworking Construction Site Workers to join our dynamic labour team on a temporary basis for an upcoming prestigious project located in Victoria Island, Lagos. As a Construction Site Worker, you will be an integral part of our ground team, responsible for performing various essential tasks that support the smooth and efficient progress of construction activities. Key Responsibilities
- Load, unload, and transport construction materials, tools, and equipment to designated areas on site.
- Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) with their tasks as required.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, removing hazards, and setting up temporary structures.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision, adhering strictly to safety guidelines.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and level earth using picks, shovels, and other manual tools.
- Perform general clean-up and maintenance duties on the construction site daily to maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, company policies, and site-specific rules.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project milestones and deadlines.
- Assist in the demolition of structures and removal of rubble.
- Support the installation of temporary utilities and services on site.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods, including lifting heavy objects (up to 25kg), bending, climbing, and standing.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety procedures and willingness to strictly adhere to them.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors.
- Good communication skills to understand directions and report issues.
- Dexterity and coordination for handling tools and materials.
- Adaptability to varying work conditions, including outdoor environments and changing weather.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working on a construction site or in a similar physically demanding role.
- Familiarity with basic construction tools and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Valid construction safety certification (e.g., CSCS card) is a plus.
