Your daily tasks will include offloading deliveries, safely moving materials using appropriate equipment (manual and potentially mechanical, after training), and accurately tracking inventory to prevent delays. You will work closely with site supervisors, foremen, and skilled tradespeople, providing support that keeps the project moving forward without a hitch. Safety is our top priority, and you will be expected to strictly adhere to all site safety regulations and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced construction environment, providing a foundational understanding of various construction processes and materials. Key Responsibilities
- Safely load and unload construction materials from delivery trucks and move them to designated storage areas.
- Organize and maintain construction materials inventory on-site, ensuring easy accessibility and proper identification.
- Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., masons, carpenters, plumbers) by providing them with necessary materials and tools.
- Maintain a clean, tidy, and hazard-free work environment by regularly clearing debris and waste materials.
- Operate basic hand tools and potentially light machinery (e.g., wheelbarrows, dollies) as required, under supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory standards.
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to the site supervisor immediately.
- Perform general labour duties as assigned by the site supervisor or foreman.
Required Skills
- Proven physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects consistently (up to 50 lbs).
- Strong understanding and commitment to construction site safety protocols.
- Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented construction environment.
- Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
- Attention to detail for material organization and handling.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (at least 6 months) as a material handler, general labourer, or similar role in a construction setting.
- Knowledge of various construction materials and their proper handling.
