Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general labour duties at construction sites, including site clean-up, material handling, and tool organization.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (e.g., carpenters, equipment operators, pipefitters) with various tasks as directed.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively under supervision (e.g., shovels, rakes, jackhammers, plate compactors).
  • Prepare and clean work areas, ensuring adherence to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantle of temporary structures, scaffolding, and safety barriers.
  • Support excavation activities, including digging, trenching, and backfilling.
  • Help with the pouring, spreading, and finishing of concrete and asphalt.
  • Follow all health and safety procedures and participate in daily safety briefings.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to a supervisor.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and techniques.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.
