As a Construction Helper specializing in scaffolding support, you will be a vital part of our on-site team. Your primary responsibility will involve assisting skilled scaffolders and general site supervisors in the safe and efficient erection, dismantling, and maintenance of scaffolding structures. This role requires significant physical stamina, a keen eye for detail, and an unwavering commitment to safety protocols. You will be responsible for transporting heavy scaffolding materials, ensuring they are correctly sorted and stored, and maintaining a clean and organized work area to prevent hazards. Beyond scaffolding, you will also perform general labor duties that are crucial to the smooth operation of the construction site, such as moving materials, site clean-up, and assisting various trades as needed.
We are looking for individuals who are reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic. While previous experience in construction is a plus, it is not strictly required. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe and timely erection, alteration, and dismantling of scaffolding structures under direct supervision.
- Transport scaffolding materials (e.g., tubes, couplers, planks, base plates) across the construction site.
- Inspect scaffolding components for damage or defects and report findings to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper storage, organization, and accountability of all scaffolding equipment.
- Maintain a clean and hazard-free work area, clearing debris and excess materials regularly.
- Perform general manual labor duties, including lifting, carrying, digging, and loading/unloading materials as assigned.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulations, including the consistent use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Support skilled tradespersons and other team members with various tasks to ensure project progression.
- Participate actively in daily toolbox talks and site safety briefings.
- Report any unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or incidents to the site supervisor immediately.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks, including lifting heavy objects repeatedly (up to 25kg).
- Ability to work effectively and safely in various weather conditions and a fast-paced outdoor construction environment.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices and a commitment to adhering to them.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Good hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to changing site requirements.
