Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment to and from work areas.
- Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
- Operate basic hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures, such as scaffolding and barricades, under supervision.
- Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies rigorously.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support the team in ensuring projects stay on schedule and within quality standards.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- Effective team player with good communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a construction or manual labor role.
- Valid Working at Heights and WHMIS certifications.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and tools.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
