As a Construction General Labourer, you will play a crucial role in supporting various aspects of our construction projects, ensuring sites are organized, safe, and efficient. You will work alongside experienced tradespeople and project managers, gaining invaluable hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
  • Perform general site clean-up and maintenance, including debris removal, sweeping, and organizing tools and materials.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment manually or using basic machinery.
  • Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and compact earth to prepare sites for construction.
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools safely and efficiently (e.g., drills, saws, grinders).
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and barricades as required.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Transport materials between work areas, ensuring proper storage and accessibility.
  • Support the preparation and pouring of concrete, including mixing, spreading, and finishing.
  • Perform other labourer duties as assigned by site supervisors or project managers.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety practices.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Valid G Class Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.
  • Previous experience in a manual labour role (construction or other industry).
  • Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment.
  • Completion of WHMIS and Working at Heights training (willingness to obtain is acceptable).
