Key Responsibilities
- Warmly greet guests upon arrival and provide a personalized welcome, assisting with luggage and orientation.
- Proactively anticipate guest needs and offer comprehensive information about the hotel's amenities and local attractions.
- Handle a wide range of guest requests, including restaurant reservations, spa appointments, transportation arrangements (taxis, private drivers, transfers), and tour bookings (e.g., Reach Falls, Blue Lagoon, rafting on the Rio Grande).
- Provide expert recommendations for local dining, entertainment, cultural events, and hidden gems in Port Antonio and the wider Portland parish.
- Manage and track all guest requests efficiently, ensuring timely and satisfactory resolution.
- Coordinate seamlessly with other hotel departments (Front Desk, Housekeeping, F&B, Maintenance) to ensure fluid service delivery.
- Maintain an updated knowledge base of local services, events, and attractions to provide accurate and relevant information.
- Handle guest inquiries and resolve minor complaints with diplomacy, empathy, and a proactive problem-solving approach.
- Assist with special events, group coordination, and personalized guest itineraries as required.
- Maintain a pristine, organized, and welcoming concierge desk area, reflecting the hotel's luxury standards.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a concierge or similar guest-facing role within a luxury hotel or resort setting.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, with a keen ability to connect with diverse personalities.
- Fluency in English is essential; additional language proficiency (e.g., Spanish, French, German) is a significant asset.
- Proficient in using hotel management software (PMS) and office applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and manage time efficiently in a dynamic environment.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a proactive, intuitive approach to guest service.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a calm, composed demeanor under pressure.
- Deep, intimate knowledge of Port Antonio and surrounding areas, including attractions, dining, local culture, and services.
