Our Concierge is a master of first impressions and an indispensable resource, transforming ordinary stays into extraordinary experiences. Your day will be a vibrant mix of engaging with guests, managing requests, and coordinating services to meet diverse needs. You’ll be the go-to expert for everything from recommending the perfect local restaurant for a special occasion, booking transportation, arranging tour excursions to the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC) or Tinapa Lakeside Hotel area, securing tickets to local events, or simply providing directions to Marian Market. This role demands a keen eye for detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively while maintaining a calm and welcoming demeanor. You will work closely with other departments, including Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Bell Services, to ensure seamless service delivery. Beyond standard duties, you’ll have the opportunity to build genuine rapport with guests, understand their preferences, and offer personalized recommendations that leave a lasting positive impression. We are looking for someone who not only answers questions but anticipates them, someone who is genuinely excited to showcase the best of Calabar and make every guest’s visit effortless and enriching. Key Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet and welcome guests upon arrival, offering immediate assistance and information.
  • Provide accurate, comprehensive, and up-to-date information about hotel services, local attractions, dining options, transportation, and events.
  • Handle guest inquiries and requests efficiently and courteously, anticipating needs whenever possible.
  • Make reservations for restaurants, tours, transportation (taxis, car rentals), and other services as requested by guests.
  • Assist with luggage handling, store personal belongings, and facilitate mail/package services.
  • Maintain a detailed log of all guest requests and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments to ensure a seamless and positive guest experience.
  • Manage and resolve guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally, escalating to management when necessary.
  • Keep abreast of local news, events, and cultural happenings to provide relevant recommendations.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written); proficiency in other local languages is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Calabar and its surrounding areas, including attractions, dining, and transportation.
  • Excellent communication and active listening abilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office, hotel PMS systems).
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Hospitality Management, Tourism, or a related field.
  • Previous experience (1+ years) in a concierge, front desk, or guest relations role within a reputable hotel.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS).
