Job Description
Are you a highly motivated and skilled Computer Engineer with a passion for building, troubleshooting, and maintaining computer systems? SkyNet Technologies is seeking an enthusiastic and technically proficient individual to join our growing team in Calabar. This pivotal role involves hands-on work with various hardware and software components, ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our clients’ IT infrastructure. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of computer systems, from initial assembly and configuration to ongoing maintenance and advanced diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities
- Assemble, configure, and install new computer systems (desktops, laptops, servers) according to client specifications and industry best practices.
- Perform hardware diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair for a wide range of computer components, including motherboards, CPUs, RAM, storage devices, and peripherals.
- Install, configure, and update operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS) and essential software applications.
- Conduct preventative maintenance on computer hardware to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
- Provide technical support to clients, both on-site and remotely, resolving hardware and software-related issues efficiently.
- Manage and troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues (LAN, Wi-Fi configuration, IP addressing).
- Maintain accurate records of all service requests, repairs, and system configurations.
- Advise clients on hardware upgrades, replacements, and best practices for system care.
- Collaborate with team members to share knowledge and develop innovative solutions.
- Ensure all work adheres to safety standards and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in computer hardware assembly and disassembly.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for PC hardware and software.
- Proficiency in installing and configuring Windows operating systems.
- Basic understanding of network concepts (TCP/IP, LAN, Wi-Fi).
- Familiarity with various computer peripherals and their setup.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- CompTIA A+ or similar hardware/software certifications.
- Experience with server hardware and basic server operating systems.
- Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices for end-user systems.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to client sites within Calabar Municipality.
