Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Compliance Officer with a strong focus on Audit, Legal, and Governance to join our dedicated team at the Halewood manufacturing plant. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that Jaguar Land Rover’s operations adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, internal policies, and ethical standards. You will be at the forefront of identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance risks across various functions, playing a pivotal part in maintaining our reputation for integrity and operational excellence within a complex and evolving regulatory landscape. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive compliance policies and procedures in line with national and international regulations relevant to the automotive industry.
  • Conduct regular internal audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and recommend corrective actions and improvements.
  • Monitor changes in legal and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, Anti-Bribery Act, environmental regulations) and proactively update internal policies and training materials.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to various departments on compliance matters related to operations, supply chain, product integrity, and ethical conduct.
  • Support the legal team in managing regulatory inquiries and investigations, preparing necessary documentation and responses, and ensuring due diligence.
  • Coordinate and deliver engaging compliance training programs for employees at all levels, fostering a strong culture of compliance and ethical behaviour.
  • Prepare detailed and accurate reports on compliance activities, findings, and risk mitigation strategies for senior management and relevant governance committees.
  • Collaborate closely with internal audit, legal, and governance teams to ensure an integrated and holistic approach to risk management and oversight.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend continuous improvements to enhance the overall compliance framework and operational resilience.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (minimum 4 years) as a Compliance Officer or in a similar role with a focus on audit, legal, or governance functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant UK and international compliance regulations, particularly those applicable to the manufacturing or automotive sectors.
  • Strong understanding of audit methodologies, risk management principles, and internal control frameworks.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex compliance issues clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
  • High level of integrity, ethical conduct, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with compliance management tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a closely related field.
  • Relevant professional certifications such as ICA Diploma in Compliance, Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), or equivalent.
  • Direct experience within the automotive, advanced manufacturing, or heavy industry sector.
  • Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) software solutions and data analytics for compliance monitoring.
  • Master's degree or advanced professional qualification in a relevant discipline.
