Nigerian Breweries Plc is seeking a dedicated and reliable Company Driver to join our dynamic team in Rumukalagbor, Port Harcourt. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing safe, timely, and efficient transportation services for our esteemed personnel, critical documents, and occasional light goods, ensuring smooth corporate operations within Port Harcourt and surrounding areas. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport company personnel, visitors, and authorized individuals to various destinations as required by management.
- Ensure timely delivery and collection of corporate documents, packages, and light goods, handling them with care and discretion.
- Maintain the assigned company vehicle in a clean, presentable, and roadworthy condition at all times, performing daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Report any mechanical issues, accidents, or incidents promptly and accurately to the designated supervisor or fleet manager.
- Adhere strictly to all Nigerian traffic laws, company driving policies, and road safety regulations to ensure a secure environment for passengers and cargo.
- Plan and optimize routes to ensure efficient travel, considering traffic patterns, road conditions, and scheduled appointments.
- Maintain accurate logbooks of journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance records.
- Handle sensitive information and transport duties with utmost discretion and confidentiality.
- Assist with loading and unloading items as necessary, ensuring secure transport and delivery.
- Represent the company professionally and courteously at all times while on duty.
Required Skills
- Proven professional driving experience of at least 3 years, preferably in a corporate or commercial setting.
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class E or F endorsement is a mandatory requirement).
- Sound knowledge of Port Harcourt city roads, routes, and traffic regulations.
- Demonstrable understanding of basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting to handle minor issues.
- Excellent defensive driving skills and a strong, unwavering commitment to road safety.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with passengers and colleagues.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently under pressure.
- High degree of integrity, reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE) or equivalent.
- Additional certifications in defensive driving, advanced driving techniques, or first aid.
- Experience driving luxury or executive vehicles and understanding corporate etiquette.
- A clean driving record with no history of major accidents or significant traffic violations.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and local languages spoken in Rivers State.
