Key Responsibilities

  • Safely and efficiently transport company staff, executives, visitors, and goods to designated locations within Abuja and occasionally beyond, adhering to scheduled timings.
  • Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in optimal working condition; report any mechanical issues or damage promptly to the fleet manager.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and good appearance of the company vehicle at all times, both interior and exterior.
  • Ensure all vehicle documents (registration, insurance, roadworthiness certificates) are current, valid, and available in the vehicle as required by law.
  • Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, company driving policies, and safety regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, goods, and the vehicle.
  • Assist with careful loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are securely placed and protected during transit.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks of journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and service records, submitting them regularly.
  • Plan optimal routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption, utilizing navigation tools and considering real-time traffic conditions.
  • Handle sensitive information and confidential documents with utmost discretion and confidentiality.
  • Represent GIG Logistics professionally in interactions with clients, partners, and the public, always upholding the company's image.

Required Skills

  • Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class B or above) with a clean driving record.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate or logistics environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, major routes, and traffic regulations.
  • Strong defensive driving skills and a commitment to road safety.
  • Exceptional punctuality and strong time management abilities.
  • Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., oil level, water, tire pressure, brakes).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with passengers and colleagues.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent qualification.
  • Additional certifications in defensive driving, advanced driver training, or vehicle safety.
  • Previous experience working for a reputable logistics or transportation company.
  • Familiarity with GPS navigation systems and mobile applications for route optimization.
