Job Description
We are seeking a highly professional, reliable, and experienced Company Driver to join our dynamic team in Guarimpa Estate, Abuja. As a Company Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of company personnel, valuable documents, and goods. This position requires a strong commitment to road safety, excellent time management skills, and a customer-centric approach. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport company staff, executives, visitors, and goods to designated locations within Abuja and occasionally beyond, adhering to scheduled timings.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, ensuring the vehicle is in optimal working condition; report any mechanical issues or damage promptly to the fleet manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good appearance of the company vehicle at all times, both interior and exterior.
- Ensure all vehicle documents (registration, insurance, roadworthiness certificates) are current, valid, and available in the vehicle as required by law.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road signs, company driving policies, and safety regulations to ensure the safety of passengers, goods, and the vehicle.
- Assist with careful loading and unloading of goods, ensuring they are securely placed and protected during transit.
- Maintain accurate logbooks of journeys, mileage, fuel consumption, and service records, submitting them regularly.
- Plan optimal routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption, utilizing navigation tools and considering real-time traffic conditions.
- Handle sensitive information and confidential documents with utmost discretion and confidentiality.
- Represent GIG Logistics professionally in interactions with clients, partners, and the public, always upholding the company's image.
Required Skills
- Valid Nigerian Driver's License (Class B or above) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably in a corporate or logistics environment.
- Excellent knowledge of Abuja road networks, major routes, and traffic regulations.
- Strong defensive driving skills and a commitment to road safety.
- Exceptional punctuality and strong time management abilities.
- Ability to perform basic vehicle maintenance checks (e.g., oil level, water, tire pressure, brakes).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with passengers and colleagues.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
- Secondary School Certificate (SSCE) or equivalent qualification.
- Additional certifications in defensive driving, advanced driver training, or vehicle safety.
