Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Commercial Plumber to join our New Construction division in Milton Keynes. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to play a critical role in installing advanced plumbing systems for various large-scale commercial and industrial buildings. The successful candidate will be responsible for the full spectrum of plumbing work on new build sites, including reading blueprints, installing pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing components, ensuring all work adheres to stringent safety standards and building regulations. You will work closely with site managers, other trades, and project engineers to deliver projects on time and to the highest quality. This role demands a strong understanding of commercial plumbing systems, an eye for detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems and components on new commercial construction sites.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction drawings to determine proper installation procedures.
- Cut, thread, bend, and connect pipes (copper, plastic, steel, cast iron, etc.) using various tools and techniques.
- Install and troubleshoot commercial fixtures, appliances, and plumbing equipment (e.g., boilers, water heaters, pumps, drainage systems).
- Perform hydrostatic testing and inspections of plumbing systems to ensure leak-free operation and compliance with codes.
- Collaborate effectively with other trades, general contractors, and project managers to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations, building codes, and company policies at all times.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and hours worked.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Commercial Plumber, specifically in new construction projects.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing and Heating (or equivalent recognised qualification).
- Strong understanding of plumbing systems, pipefitting, and drainage techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid UK driving licence.
- CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme).
Preferred Qualifications
- Gas Safe registration (if working with gas systems).
- Experience with renewable energy plumbing systems (e.g., heat pumps).
- First Aid at Work certification.
