Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor production machinery and equipment according to established procedures and safety guidelines, ensuring optimal performance and output.
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to identify and resolve minor machine issues, minimizing downtime.
- Set up, adjust, and calibrate machinery for various product runs, ensuring correct specifications, product quality, and efficient changeovers.
- Conduct thorough quality checks on products at different stages of the production process, identifying and rectifying any deviations from quality standards.
- Maintain accurate and detailed production records, including downtime, output, waste, and quality control data.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and maintenance personnel to achieve production targets and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Assist with equipment cleaning, sanitization, and start-up procedures, ensuring smooth transitions between products and shifts.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Machine Operator in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in a fast-paced setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills for troubleshooting equipment issues.
- Ability to read and accurately interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and production schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail and unwavering commitment to product quality and safety.
- Basic computer literacy for operating machine interfaces and data entry.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
- Effective communication and strong teamwork skills to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or certification in a related technical field (e.g., Industrial Mechanic, Automation Technician).
- Direct experience in the food and beverage manufacturing industry.
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and HACCP principles.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
