As a Cloud Systems Deployment Assistant at Jobber, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless, efficient, and reliable delivery of our cutting-edge field service management platform to our global customer base. Working entirely remotely, you will be an integral part of our dynamic Infrastructure team, contributing to the deployment, management, and optimization of our cloud-based systems. You will be responsible for supporting and enhancing our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, helping to automate various stages of our software release cycle from code commit to production rollout. This involves working with a variety of cloud technologies, scripting languages (like Python or Bash), and deployment tools (such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar platforms) to streamline our processes and reduce manual intervention. Your daily tasks will include assisting with the setup and configuration of deployment environments, executing deployment routines, monitoring the health and performance of our deployed applications using advanced observability tools, and collaborating closely with software development and site reliability engineering teams to resolve deployment-related issues swiftly and effectively. You will also contribute to maintaining documentation for our deployment processes and configurations, ensuring knowledge sharing and operational consistency across the team.

The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), experience with scripting, and a keen eye for detail. You’ll be instrumental in maintaining system integrity, ensuring high availability, and supporting our commitment to delivering a robust and scalable solution. Familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools will be a significant asset, as will an understanding of infrastructure as code principles. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the maintenance and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient software deployments.

  • Monitor the performance and health of deployed cloud applications and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with development and SRE teams to troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related issues.
  • Participate in the configuration and setup of development, staging, and production environments.
  • Contribute to maintaining comprehensive documentation for deployment processes and system configurations.
  • Support the implementation of infrastructure as code (IaC) principles.
  • Learn and adapt to new cloud technologies and DevOps best practices.
  • Ensure system integrity, security, and high availability of deployed services.

Required Skills

  • Foundational understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)
