Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in both AWS and Azure platforms to join our innovative technology team in Goma. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing our cloud infrastructure to support critical business operations and digital services. You will work closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure our cloud environments are secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-efficient. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a strong understanding of cloud architecture best practices, automation, and continuous improvement methodologies. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage scalable, highly available, and fault-tolerant systems on AWS and Azure platforms.
- Implement and maintain robust cloud security practices, including identity and access management (IAM), network security groups, and data encryption.
- Automate cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.
- Monitor cloud environments for performance, availability, and cost optimization, identifying and resolving issues proactively.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application deployment and infrastructure changes.
- Provide expert guidance and support to development teams on cloud-native application development and best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define cloud strategy, architecture, and roadmaps.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience in cloud engineering or related roles.
- Proven hands-on experience with AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Lambda, etc.).
- Proven hands-on experience with Azure services (Virtual Machines, Azure SQL, Azure AD, VNet, App Services, etc.).
- Strong understanding of cloud networking, security, and identity management principles.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell).
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).
- Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
- Experience with other cloud providers (e.g., Google Cloud Platform).
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Azure Monitor).
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
