Homewood Suites by Hilton Guelph is actively seeking dedicated Cleaners, also referred to as Housekeepers or Room Attendants, to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms and public areas according to established standards and procedures, including changing linens, making beds, and replenishing supplies.
  • Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including showers, toilets, sinks, and floors, ensuring all fixtures sparkle.
  • Perform general cleaning duties such as vacuuming carpets, mopping hard floors, dusting furniture, fixtures, and surfaces.
  • Empty trash receptacles, remove waste materials, and ensure proper disposal.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items immediately to the housekeeping supervisor or front desk.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of work carts, storage closets, and equipment.
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for additional supplies or services.
  • Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and personal protective equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, including front desk staff and maintenance, to ensure seamless guest service and operational efficiency.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, lifting (up to 20 kg), pushing, pulling, and standing/walking for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic with a proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
  • Basic verbal communication skills in English to understand instructions and interact with guests and colleagues.
  • A positive and service-oriented attitude, always striving for guest satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (6+ months) in cleaning, housekeeping, or a related role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Experience working in a diverse, multicultural environment and an understanding of different cultural norms.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages is considered a valuable asset, enhancing guest interaction.
  • Familiarity with various cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment commonly used in hospitality.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
