Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers in the design, planning, and execution of civil engineering projects.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, plans, and specifications using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to gather data, monitor progress, and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
- Perform calculations and analyses related to grading, drainage, earthworks, and material quantities.
- Compile and analyze technical data, reports, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure project objectives are met.
- Provide technical support during construction phases, addressing queries and resolving site-related issues.
- Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, regulations, and quality standards.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to problem-solving and decision-making processes.
Required Skills
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience as a Civil Technician.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
- Solid understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materials.
- Experience with site supervision and quality control.
- Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with GIS software.
- Knowledge of French (an asset).
- Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects in Quebec.
- Familiarity with Quebec building codes and regulations.
- Experience with surveying equipment and techniques.
- Professional certification or registration (e.g., OACETT, Ordre des technologues professionnels du Québec).
