While this recruitment is managed from our Connecticut office, the successful candidate will be deployed to various international locations based on project needs. You will be instrumental in the planning, design, and execution phases of large-scale civil engineering projects, ranging from transportation networks and urban development to water resources, energy infrastructure, and critical facilities. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in the design, analysis, and execution of civil engineering projects in international settings, adhering to local and international codes and standards (e.g., Eurocodes, AASHTO, BS, FIDIC).
  • Conduct comprehensive site investigations, feasibility studies, and prepare detailed engineering reports, specifications, and cost estimates for various civil infrastructure.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to required quality standards.
  • Supervise on-site construction activities, ensuring strict compliance with design specifications, quality control plans, environmental regulations, and robust safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, government agencies, stakeholders, and local authorities, fostering strong working relationships and effective communication.
  • Perform rigorous technical reviews and quality assurance checks on designs, drawings, and all project deliverables.
  • Identify and proactively mitigate project risks, developing innovative and sustainable solutions to complex engineering challenges that may arise in diverse contexts.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and training to junior engineers and local project staff, fostering skill development.
  • Contribute to the development of winning proposals, compelling presentations, and clear client communications.
  • Ensure project documentation is meticulously maintained and adheres to company and project-specific standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project execution, preferably with exposure to large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, GIS platforms, structural analysis tools).
  • Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, materials science, and project delivery systems.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and complex problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced, and multicultural environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for technical reports, presentations, and client interactions.
  • Valid passport and an unreserved willingness to travel extensively and reside overseas for extended periods, typically 12-24 months per assignment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S. or equivalent international professional certification (e.g., CEng).
  • Previous experience on international projects, particularly in regions such as Africa, Asia, or the Middle East.
  • Fluency or advanced proficiency in a second language relevant to international project locations (e.g., French, Spanish, Arabic, Portuguese, Mandarin).
  • Experience with FIDIC (Fédération Internationale Des Ingénieurs-Conseils) contracts or other international standard forms of contract.
  • Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices, climate resilience strategies, and environmental impact assessments.
