Key Responsibilities
- Perform engineering design calculations, analysis, and prepare detailed plans and specifications for civil engineering projects, including roadways, drainage systems, utility infrastructure, and site grading.
- Utilize civil engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, HEC-RAS, and other relevant tools for design and modeling.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, structural engineers, environmental specialists, and surveyors.
- Conduct site investigations, feasibility studies, and prepare technical reports and presentations.
- Ensure all designs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
- Participate in client meetings, present design concepts, and address project-related queries.
- Assist in the preparation of construction cost estimates and project schedules.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
- Stay abreast of new technologies, methods, and regulations within the civil engineering field.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and design standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in any U.S. state, or ability to obtain within 12-18 months of employment.
- Experience with other design software such as MicroStation, GIS, or stormwater modeling software.
- Prior experience working on projects in the U.S. or familiarity with U.S. design codes and standards.
- Project management experience, including budgeting and scheduling.
