Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior engineers with the design, analysis, and preparation of engineering drawings, specifications, and reports for various civil infrastructure projects.
- Conduct site investigations, data collection, and field inspections to gather essential project information and monitor construction progress.
- Perform engineering calculations and analysis using relevant software and industry standards.
- Prepare technical memos, project documentation, and presentations under the guidance of project managers.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including planners, environmental scientists, and other engineering disciplines.
- Participate in project meetings, client discussions, and stakeholder engagements.
- Support the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules.
- Adhere to AECOM’s safety protocols, quality standards, and ethical guidelines.
- Engage actively in professional development activities, training sessions, and mentorship programs.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering processes and design methodologies.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Eligible for Engineer-in-Training (EIT) registration with APEGS (Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan).
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles and practices.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other CAD software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and critical thinking.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or co-op experience in a civil engineering consulting environment.
- Familiarity with Civil 3D, MicroStation, or other relevant engineering design software.
- Basic knowledge of local design codes, standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., City of Regina standards, Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways).
- Strong academic record, demonstrating a commitment to excellence.
- Involvement in engineering student organizations or volunteer work.
