Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic, and results-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team in Houston, Texas. As CFO, you will be a critical partner to the CEO and Board of Directors, responsible for the overall financial health and strategic direction of Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. You will lead our finance organization, including accounting, treasury, tax, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, and internal audit. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in the energy or midstream sector, a proven track record of managing complex financial operations for a publicly traded entity, and exceptional leadership skills. This role demands a visionary leader capable of navigating market volatility, driving financial performance, optimizing capital structure, and ensuring robust financial controls and compliance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all financial operations, including accounting, treasury, tax, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), investor relations, and internal audit functions.
  • Develop and execute financial strategies that support the company's long-term objectives and drive sustainable growth.
  • Manage the company's capital structure, including debt and equity financing, and optimize cash flow management.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, compliance with GAAP, SEC regulations, and other regulatory requirements for a publicly traded MLP.
  • Oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic insights and recommendations to the executive team and Board.
  • Lead investor relations efforts, effectively communicating financial performance, strategy, and outlook to analysts, investors, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, conducting financial due diligence and integration planning.
  • Manage risk, including financial, operational, and regulatory risks, and implement robust internal controls.
  • Foster a high-performance culture within the finance department, attracting, developing, and retaining top financial talent.
  • Provide expert financial guidance and support to the CEO and Board of Directors on all strategic initiatives and operational decisions.

Required Skills

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance roles, with at least 7 years in a senior executive financial capacity (CFO, VP Finance, or Controller) for a publicly traded company.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the energy or midstream sector.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets, corporate finance, treasury, tax, and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing finance teams.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with investors, board members, and employees at all levels.
  • Deep knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and public company compliance.
  • Strategic thinking with a strong analytical and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • MBA or Master's degree in a relevant financial discipline.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Experience with complex financial modeling and valuation in the energy industry.
  • Proven track record of success in M&A activities, including due diligence and integration.
  • Experience presenting to and interacting with investment banking communities and rating agencies.
