Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the entire project lifecycle from conceptual design through commissioning and handover, ensuring adherence to project scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, utilizing industry-standard project management software.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful completion and minimize deviations.
- Ensure all project activities comply with Chevron's stringent safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality assurance requirements.
- Coordinate and liaise with internal teams (operations, maintenance, procurement, HES) and external stakeholders (contractors, vendors, regulatory bodies) to foster collaboration.
- Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, and feasibility studies to optimize project designs and methodologies, promoting innovation and efficiency.
- Prepare and present regular, comprehensive project status reports to management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, financial performance, and mitigation strategies.
- Manage project documentation, ensuring accurate, timely, and organized record-keeping for all project phases.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements within project execution without compromising safety or quality.
- Participate in contractor selection, negotiation, and contract management processes, ensuring favorable terms and performance.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical, or related field) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in project engineering or project management within the energy, oil & gas, or heavy industrial sectors.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects from initiation to closure, demonstrating strong leadership and technical acumen.
- Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, SAP).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, capable of influencing diverse teams.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced team environment, fostering collaboration and accountability.
- Proficiency in risk management, critical path analysis, and complex problem-solving.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards (e.g., ASME, API), and safety regulations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Engineering or Business Administration (MBA).
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent.
- Experience with capital projects in refining, petrochemical, or upstream oil & gas facilities.
- Knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and their application.
- Experience with SAP or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems for project financial tracking.
- Proficiency in advanced engineering software and simulation tools.
