Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the routine inspection, maintenance, and repair of marine equipment, machinery, and systems on vessels and offshore facilities.
- Support senior engineers in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues related to marine operations.
- Participate in the planning and execution of scheduled maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor equipment performance, identify potential failures, and recommend corrective actions.
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports, maintenance logs, and inventory management for marine spare parts.
- Contribute to the implementation of Chevron's Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS) and safety procedures.
- Learn and apply relevant industry standards, codes, and best practices in marine engineering.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to optimize operational efficiency and resolve technical challenges.
- Engage in continuous professional development through training programs and mentorship opportunities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of marine propulsion systems, auxiliary machinery, and vessel operations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and environmental stewardship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior internship or industrial attachment experience in a marine or oil & gas environment.
- Knowledge of maritime regulations (e.g., SOLAS, MARPOL).
- Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Basic understanding of offshore drilling and production operations.
